Preschool Programs

Our Preschool Programs are built to bridge the gap between child care and kindergarten, giving 3 - 5-year-olds a rich early childhood education in a warm, play-based setting. We use a state-approved curriculum that feels like fun to children but is carefully planned to support real school readiness.

Early literacy is part of every day. We read stories, sing songs, play with rhymes, and explore letters in meaningful ways - like labeling classroom areas and writing children's names together. Children begin to recognize letters, sounds, and print concepts without feeling pressured.

Social skills are just as important as academics. In small and large groups, children practice taking turns, listening to friends, sharing materials, and solving simple conflicts with teacher support. These routines help them learn how to be part of a classroom community.

Creative arts exploration is woven throughout our week. Children paint, draw, build, dance, and dramatize stories, using a variety of materials and tools. This builds fine motor skills, imagination, and confidence while giving children a way to express their ideas and feelings.

We focus intentionally on school readiness skills: following multi-step directions, staying with a task, asking questions, and using early math concepts like counting, sorting, and comparing. Learning centers, circle time, and small-group activities all work together so children are ready for the expectations of kindergarten.

Throughout the year, we observe and document each child's progress, sharing what we see during parent-teacher conversations. You get a clear picture of how your child is growing in language, thinking, social-emotional skills, and independence. Our goal is simple: when your child leaves our preschool in Baltimore, they walk into their next classroom feeling prepared, confident, and excited to learn.
